Basic Intentions and scope of cover

This is to cover the insured's legal liability in respect accidents occurring during the policy year. Normally the policy will cover third party injury and property damage liability. It also covers legal expenses, both of the insured in defending or resisting such claims and those of the successful third party.

Premium Basis

The premium may be adjustable. For example, a provisional premium is paid initially, adjusted to the correct amount when final figures are available. The rate charged will reflect the potential risk, according to the occupation of the insured.
